Good-intentioned humanitarian aid sometimes cause more harm
Chasing chaos: The real-life story of a humanitarian aid worker
she does not really say HOW it causes more harm but she is cute though. this reminds me of a Star Trek New Generation episode where Pickard does not help a planet of drug addicts because it would do more harm to them in the long run. She basically says that the problems are systemic and some of the 'help' the west gives is superficial to the real problem (corruption, etc.). Although I agree, a hungry kid is a still a hungry kid. Feed the kid now and worry about the systemic part later. Maybe. I might have to check out the book.
