Or....the woman being served THOUGHT the server was flirting with her, or perhaps she has an under-lying homo sexual tendancy and WISHED the server was flirting with her.

Just wondering though..why would the headline mention the servers past military experience, if not to rally the Patriots to the servers defence.

I stand by the position the story is a non-starter.

I think her military back ground came up due to the charity she was donating the money too. Another possibility is if the reporter was getting back ground on her, some of her co-workers may have mentioned it as well.

Aside from that, she is a veteran which is as much a part of her as her gender, sexual orientation, eye color, age or any thing else. The story could have just said a food server in an undisclosed location was stiffed on a tip. Does not really make for a story.

IOW, we need to find an angle to jerk at the heart strings. Perhaps the story won't stand on it's own without the little extra sauces.

Yes you are confused. No I did not say that. I said the military back ground was a side fact the same as her gender, hair color, ... etc.

How is her service relevant? Why not add her academic record? How about driving record? I fail ro see how her being a marine is relevant. I don't like you for being gau is lne thing. I I don't like you for being a marine AND gay is different. Or do you think tjat the marine thing is more than an attempt at gaining sympathy?

Come on boys. If the story is true that the customer in fact did tip --at 18%, some of you need to eat a whole lot of crow.

They say it tastes better warm.

Since the couple also produced a Visa bill showin the CC hit for the tip included amount, the poor victimized gay woman seems to me like a fraudster.
Will her boss send her packing as quickly as he told the couple he wouldn't serve them again?

They produced their customer copy. It does not correspond with the merchant copy which is the one that counts. So unless the merchant is willing to alter a receipt I still have doubts. I keep my customer copy but rarely write on it. I guess the merchant one could have been photo shopped but I think it is difficult to photo shop hand writing. Easier to photo shop it out and put an amount that you want on it.

This is one of those things we will never know the answer too.

I find the customer's story more plausible. Much more likely to me that someone with a persecution complex would make up this story than someone actually doing something so petty and stupid.

Agree, especially if the customer has credit/bank statement showing the charge from that restaurant to be different.
