See, that's the thing. He cannot easily realize the length of the runway on approach. However, he damn well knows a 100' wide runway is woefully inadequate for that aircraft. It never lands on anything less than 150' width and 200' width is comfortable.

So, WTF is he thinking when he sees what amounts to a ribbon in front of him? The first response should be............."that's not right".

But, apparently not.

Yeah, I was living just south of Frankfort, KY and working in Lexington, KY when this one happen:

July 7, 1987 - A Delta Air Lines 737, bound for Lexington, Kentucky (LEX), mistakenly lands at Capital City Airport (FFT) in Frankfort. Link.
