had an opportunity to drive an 08 Mini Cooper, 6 spd
Man what a fun little car. I was quite impressed. Anyone have any dealings with 'em? It is easy to see the BMW in it.

Never been in one. I'd probably love to have one, but I'd hate to get whacked in one by another vehicle. High potential for lots of injuries, rather easily I would imagine......

Still safer than a motorcycle.

And most likely the majority of vehicles over 10 years old.

new minis are pretty safe. My cousin rolled one somehow and he was unhurt. Another cousin got T-boned by a big rig in a mazda 2. She had a few scrapes and bruises but she came out ok Pretty impressive really.

You beat me to it.
I drove a Mini Cooper once. It was a customer's car and I didn't get to push it, but it seemed enjoyable during tame driving.

Not that I give a flying rip about safety. Though I'd go for a nerve-gas generator that activates if crash forces are beyond a certain amount -- I'd rather be dead than crippled for life or a veggie.

Sell alot of them. Typical BMW. Easy to sell. Hard to keep the thing from breaking past the 30 day warranty period.
NOT a mechanic friendly car. Step 1 for just about everything is removing the entire nose.

Dig them, super fun to drive!
Even though they are owned by BMW, they are still plagued by British car issues... That magical smoke...

I do, I have an '04 which is an R53 ( super charged). The SC is a lot more fun than the turbo cars plus it's fun to hear the SC spool with a reduction pulley. I like toying with drivers of modded rice Burners and others. It won't win a drag but it can pull away and out corner like a beast. Especially with the 17x8's I'm running on. I cannot wait to get my cold air intake, more whine!

It did suck to replace the clutch but after that everything compared to it is cake. Only take me 10 mins to put the nose in service mode20 to pull the radiator. |

You must be selling some bet o. Crap coopers. Once I sorted mine out ( supercharger, clutch, starter, alternator, belt tensioner, coil and wires) its been trouble free. The issue is people don't take car of the car, they think it's will be fine with just oil changes, nope. Not at all. You need to pay attention to these cars
