Yes, a couple of times. On old Mercedes of worth. Never got any responses though.

Someone came up to the door of a house and offered to buy it. This was b4 the crash. I regret I didn’t take the offer as it was a gooood one.

Never had an offer for one of my cars. Not surprisingly.

I occasionally get notes on some of my windshields. Ignored them so far. Only left one myself that I can remember and it worked. Have located owners of cars though but was more work to do so.

I never have but my uncle did on some late model SL. The owner called him back and said he would save his number and give him first crack at it when he decides to sell.

When I drove my early Camaro convertible around it was almost a daily occurance, if I saved them there would be a shopping bag of BS offers--a old paper shopping bag.

It's how I got my TD, although it was with the receptionist at the building where it was parked rather than on the windshield.

Not interested. I don't want to waste my time. If you don't want to sell, I don't want to make the offer. I want you to want to sell first. If you came to me asking to buy my Vette, I don't need to sell, you bet I will make a stand higher on the scale. If I need to sell, I might be more motivated to lower the price.

The note may provide a motivator for an owner that may have been considering selling. If a note where left on certain vehicles we own I would give it some consideration.

But not from a low ballers approach. Some cars are exceess to their needs but an owner just not get time to deal with it.

What you say is possible. I'd still rather have someone who is desperate to get rid of it. That makes them more motivated to lower the price. Case in point, I bought a 2000 Seadoo GTX in late October. I could tell the guy "Well, either you pay to winterize and store it or you give me the thing for $X." Your call. Sold it at the start of the season after the upcoming one for more than I paid for it. Sure, he did argue that "In spring I can....". My counter was "This ain't spring. This is now. I got cash. Take it or I walk".
