Here are some founding fathers for you: George Washington was worth 525 million, Thomas Jefferson 212 million, James Madison 101 million and John Adams with 19 million. George Washington was the second wealthiest president after JFK, who was the only billionaire president.

Yes and their wealth is what allowed them to go serve the country for a limited time. They looked at it as a duty. Their wealth allowed them to serve rather than being a result of their time in office.

Certainly there is name calling on both sides, but I was referring to behavior on this forum.
And it seems to have gotten much more prevalent during the Obama administration.
To the best of my knowledge, Michelle Obama does not go by the name Shelly.. why would someone call her that?
Barack has not self applied Barry since he was a kid, so what is the motivation to call him that now?
I guess I just don't understand.....

As for other forums... no way.
Only other forums I visit are ones for specific products I use in my work.
Got no time to waste anywhere else, and for sure I will not find such agreeable, well rounded, articulate and just generally nice folks as what is here.

During the Bush years there were many terms used for GWB. The Republicans pointed out that if you did not respect the person you should always respect the office. They took the high road and demanded that others do the same.

Then Obama was elected and I heard Republicans coming up with all sorts of names, most of them not very creative, for Obama. I pointed out what they were saying about this only weeks earlier and they noted two important differences. Bush was beyond reproach and Obama is not worthy of respect. So that makes everything all right.

This bit of logic, which is also known as lying, has become rather popular among the right wing over the past few years, but as long as it makes them feel better about losing the election I don't see any way that it will soon let up.

I think it's more a case of ' if my guy does it it's ok, if your guy does it it's not'.

Seems like it. But if you look at the $ numbers, democrats do pretty well. Especially Clinton made some very grateful friends during his 8 years in office.

Dick Cheney has some very generous friends as well, the first gulf war made him a very wealthy man.

Well, since "Shelly" was offensive to some, I edited my post. Also, I am not a Republican, ... really.

So, instead of hi-jacking the thread, I will do a little ditty on Mr. Mitch McConnell of KY. A republican. Another shinning example of why politicians are sinking our country and doing so pretty fast. Give me a few hours or a day.

I am home today, playing hookie to some degree. Wife got involved in an auto wreck last night, so after 25 years of marriage I am finally being a decent husband and taking care of her. News at 11.

thanks guys ... one small knot on the head and a tiny cut. I made her lunch and served it to her. This is my break right now so I figured I would hop on PP. LOL. She wanted to drive so she's picking up the boy from HS. Hope no repeat from last night since this was the general time she left to go get the boy from HS.
