OK. Karma's a b! tch.

OK has a monument to the Ten Commandments on the State capital grounds that was privately funded. So now a Satanic group is asking if its good for the goose is it good for the gander. They want to display a monument to Satan on capital grounds that will be privately funded.

I wonder if the religious fundamentalists will stand by their religious freedom BS and ad ocate for the monument or if they will turn tail and fight it or just pull their monument off of capital grounds.

One of the proposals for the monument is a interactive one. I hope they go for that one. I wonder if they are accepting donations. Ill pitch in a few bucks just to see if the Christian zealots really believe in the 1st that they hide behind. Some how I doubt it.

Probably a grandstanding event for media coverage by some wannabe. Reminds me of judge moore in alabama and his ten commandments thing. Naturally followed by a political campaign.

Are you implying that ONLY Christians use media events to stir a political campaign? Surely, you are not that naive, surely.

Now you support religious symbols on public property.......

I heard a word for that, but just can't seem to find it.

I think there is a good likely hood that it is a media 'stunt' but stunt or not it will be interesting to see if the fanatical Christians who cried freedom of religion to get their 10 commandments on public property will fight just as vehemently for the Satanic group to have their rights respected.

If the quote from the State Senator is indication the answer to that question is a resounding no. I guess that religious freedom thing only applies to Christians in their eyes. Perhaps I will be proven wrong but I doubt it.

I guess sarcasm, among other things is lost on you. I'll put a smiley face for you next time so it will be easier.

I do not want religious symbols of any kind on publicly funded land. I have said so countless times on this forum if ever bothered to read them.

All that aside you are damn straight I am for equality in freedom of religion arguments. If the Christians get to display their stuff then everyone else should be able to do the same. Satan included.

Is it safe to assume you are in favor of the Satanic monument?

Yes...if you truly respect the COTUS is there any other way?

Why don't you put up an atheist statement? It is a religion.

It will be fun to see how it plays out. Unintended consequences can be a Biyatch.

I put those who believe in Satan on the same level as I put those who believe in God. Let them put up their little statue - it will make a humorous counterpoint to the Ten Commandments.

Does putting a religious monument (which mimics many of our accepted laws) up make you a "zealot" and a "fundamentalist" in your eyes?

Atheism is no more religion than bald is a hair color.

Fighting to violate the COTUS to place a religious symbol on public grounds makes one a zealot in my opinion.
