I have an opportunity to buy an H2...

Think I might take it!

Friend just picked up a '14 King Ranch to replace his '04 H2. Said he will sell it to me for what the dealer offered on trade - $12k. It's been very well maintained, and is black over grey...

What do you guys think? I'll get some pictures of it either tonight or tomorrow.

Too deliberately ugly, not enough real capability.

Icky.

I'm not anti-SUV either. I'd rather have a Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Yukon XL/Escalade rather than the gussied up (or is it down?) H2. The only Hummer I'd be caught driving would be an H1. Go real or go home.

They just look like they're trying too hard. The short overhangs make them marginally more off-roadable than a Tahoe/Yukon.

Save up for a little while and go for the G with a lift kit instead!

I'm all for ugly/crappy vehicles.

Love them so much, I picked up a 97 S10 Blazer yesterday for fun!

After driving an H1, I can't really see myself living with it. They are uncomfortable, noisy, slow, and cumbersome at low speeds.

The H2 on the other hand... That's a freggin couch on wheels!

FWIW - I would pick up a G in a heartbeat and lift it!

With that said, I do have tons of experience with them, and they are a POS, in the same way the H2 is a POS... Lot's of little issues. None that really impact the drive-ability, but issues that are annoying.

Get ready for a lot of middle fingers to be flashed your way....
Friend of mine bought one a few years ago and that "road message" was a big surprise to him !

May I suggest a Harley, where most other HD riders will wave at you.

Well put, pretty much sums up my feelings.

That said, I would much prefer the H3 if I had to choose.

Why would you want to replace a good truck with a bad one?

3/4 ton diesel to 1/2 ton SUV? Not to mention its the worst SUV the General has made in a long time.

I rode in an H2 once, it was like riding in a Suburban with more elbow room.

If you do get it just promise you will de-badge (or possibly re-badge to tahoe? Cause some double takes) And of course, get rid of those terrible stock wheels for something less fancy.

Oy, agreed on ugly, but if it isn't built well, I have little respect for it.
