Write Answer!

38 Test Answers That Are 100% Wrong But Totally Genius At The Same Time | Distractify

(not to detract, but I don't think the humor of them is in that they are 'totally wrong'. Most are not. The humor is in realizing that there can often be more than one rational answer to multiple guess answers, which I why I HATE THEM ON TESTS!)

About 25 years ago I was teaching lots of large classes which required multiple choice tests. I always went over the questions and answers with the whole class after the test. From that I learned that despite the writer's intention, it is nigh impossible to write 30 questions for which there is only one credible answer, if you take the time to listen to the rationale of those who answered differently than the writer intended.

On tests that required me to "show my work" I had to sketch me looking at my neighbors paper . . .

What setting is needed for an intelligent person to perceive wit or unusual skill as an unexpected answer?

For a lot, if they are outside of an expected setting, it will go right past them, as evidenced by the following:

I once devised a test for new employees that was MC. There were four answers to choose from and all of them were right.

After the test I announced that everyone had passed and revealed that the point of the exercise was to prove that there is no right answer to many of the problems we faced. Therefore you must pick the most accurate course of action based on the facts at hand as that was your job.

Every decision can be second guessed, but not taking action on a problem was never acceptable.

I had a college course where every exam was MC.
Answer A would have two parts.
Answer B was answer A plus two more...
Answer C was answer B plus two more....
All the way to E... Every question.

Many times only one part of an answer would be incorrect, and everything following it would be absolutely correct, but if the second part of B was wrong, then your answer would have to be A, despite seeing all correct answers in C, D and E....

That instructor was such a douche.....
