Old cell phone worth anything?

I was looking for something in my closet and found this eighties cell phone plus charger. One of those shaped like a small brick. My first thought was to pitch it but then I thought....maybe its collectible....any value in one?

I can tell you exactly what it's worth.... whatever someone will pay for it... at this point in time, it's a novelty item, a conversation starter... it wont work anymore on any current system. but for grins and giggles, post some pics

My uncle had something like that... his may have been from the '90s, but it was a definite brick. I think we may have gotten it. He used it up until 2007 or so... I think it only worked in certain areas of LA or something like that.

Buy a cheap bluetooth headset, take it apart, and install it into your brick phone. You will get all the ladies!

Not heavy enough for a boat anchor, but it would make a serviceable paper weight. Maybe even a door stop.

One can search completed listings on eBay to get some idea of what has (and hasn't) sold recently.

Some of the "brick phones" are indeed worth some money.

The first person I ever knew to have a cell phone had one of these. She was a, shall we say, working girl who used it to keep in touch with the office.

She claimed it cost her $3,500 for the phone and one dollar a minute to make or receive calls but it had led to an increase in her business of 20%.

Technology is your friend.

That is pretty much my phone. I guess I'll see if it will take a charge.
