Road bike headlight...

I know a few people here are into road bikes, so figure I'll get a good answer here...

Anyone have a recommendation for a head light for my road bike? (and tail light too)

The seasons have changed, and I want to ride my bike after work, but need some good lights to keep pointed in the right direction (and so people don't nail me!), but have no clue on where to start...

Can anyone here recommend anything decent? Weight is a factor, as is cost, but I don't mind sacrificing either for a better product.

Yeah.

I also like and use, or have used Dinotte (very recommended) and Exposure lights.

Replace the stock headlight bulb with an hid kit and the taillights with led. Autozone sells the led strips as well. I'm adding a white one under each of my.saddle bags to bighten up my footprint.

I often ride alone and I was going down the highway one night when I looked in the mirror and realized other than my small tail light, it was pitch black behind my headlight.

I have been riding with a Serfas true 500 for the last three years and am quite satisfied with it. It's a small, self contained handlebar or helmet mount, has 2 hour runtime, USB recharge, and 500 lumens is plenty of light for 20+ MPH. About $90 on Amazon. In kuan's link, looks like it has been replaced by the 550. BTW, also makes a great flashlight.

For tail lights Serfas makes a long, thin light that mounts to the seat stays. A pair of those is the current setup of choice. I am not sure of the model name though.

Everything is LED out of the box now..

Amoeba. I absolutely love this headlight. I have been using it for 4 years now. It's primary use is off road/singletrack at night, however, I also do road and cruiser rides with it. I have had nothing but top notch customer service with this purchase. The gentleman who builds them is also now doing taillights. I have not tried those out yet.

I can't recommend a specific brand, but I can say I like having a light on my helmet. That way it points where I'm looking. I just wish it were brighter.
