Mobile Check Deposits?

Anyone use mobile banking for check deposits? I have direct deposit for salary and retirement, but get quite a few other checks each month. The wife gets a pile of them a week and our bank is a drive to town I am loathe to make more than once or twice a month. Seems like it'd be convenient if it's free and secure.

I do it when at home via the iPhone. Have been doing so for about a year. What a convenience not having to go to the bank!

It is a special trip to have to go to the bank for me. Kinda pia. If my bank offers it I will probably try it.

Doing it via scanned checks for a couple years, 1 - 3 checks most months. Never had any issues.

We've been scanning our business checks for deposit for a couple of years now so we've jumped the electronic deposit hurdle. We get too many to process them mobile-y but our CU just started offering the service and I have deposited a couple personal checks without issue. Certainly not a large enough sample to make any real judgement, though.

If your wife has an iPad with a camera you could keep your old timer phone.

My bank's FAQ says you keep the check at least 14 days and then shred it. I NEVER deposit cash.
