However, trying to be both helpful and cooperative, she told the officer, “Maybe in the glove [box]. Maybe in the console. I’m scared of it. I don’t want to have anything to do with it. I might shoot right through my foot.”

Wonder if the pigwagon has video/audio. Video of the pig slandering the man "you're lying" in front of his family would be grounds for a lawsuit against the pig and the sty that employs him.

Between the hard-on Maryland cop who went road-rage on a biker, waving a gun around, then attempted to prosecute the biker for filming his apesh***ery and this, something must be in the water in Maryland.

(Though personally, if I read on the news that the pig was hit by a speeding bus during a traffic stop and severely crippled, I'd consider it karmic justice.)
Lawsuit based on what?

I don't think a law enforcement officer accusing you of lying is considered slander. Do you have any citation to back this up?

Pretty much the issue right there. STFU and life is easier. You add this and your lawyer cannot remove it. You need to add stuff, the lawyer can add it if he thinks it is necessary.

Because he intends to carry concealed. Concealed might not be just on the person. I can carry concealed with my gun under my seat or in my glove box all locked and loaded. I believe some places do NOT allow you to carry a concealed weapon in your vehicle unless it is properly encased and unloaded.

They do say "Don't be first, don't be last and don't volunteer". Information is the same thing. In this case, the woman made life difficult by volunteering information that was contradictory to the husband which triggered the issue. Had she kept her mouth shut and said "Sir, I do not know.", there would be no cause for the cop wondering if somebody was lying or be able to find any excuse.

The statement by the Wife indeed makes it sound like He actually had the Gun but She did not know where it was in the Car.

"However, trying to be both helpful and cooperative, she told the officer, “Maybe in the glove [box]. Maybe in the console. I’m scared of it. I don’t want to have anything to do with it. I might shoot right through my foot.”

The "I'm scared of it." part makes it sound as if the Gun is present especially if said with some emotion behind it.

The same as saying "I don't believe you." And, that is not Slander.

Legally I don't know but if a Cop Car Followed Me for 10 minutes I would certainly feel I was being harassed.

Kinda the problem. If he didn't investigate, he'd be roasted over the coals if something went wrong and we all know these days, it is likely. Investigate and it is an issue.
