I don't.

It is going to be interesting to see how he does his "executive" order deal to become our first third term prez.

I have not given this much thought. Obama is going to do all he can to move his agenda forward and the Republicans have already said that no matter what he comes up with they will oppose it. No matter what, the Republicans have said Obama will hit their brick wall.

So I expect Obama to do all he can without their help. If they want to oppose him for issuing executive orders then it is the same as them opposing him for anything else he does. The Constitution provides a way for the president to do some things when Congress will not go along, so, given that the Republicans have already said they are going to do all they can to oppose anything and everything why would he not use any power he has to do the same to them?

The Speaker has already said he intends for the Republicans to do nothing to move the country forward this year. All the Republicans are going to do, according to the Speaker, is oppose everything and continue to cash their paychecks.

Pretty nice gig.

Ok, we got the "Bush's fault" think on record. That's always useful.

Pretty nice gig.
It is the constitutional prerogative, actually the intent, for the Congress to moderate the president. So they are doing their duty within constitutional limits.

Got anything else?

Yes, checks and balances. Glad you paid attention in civics class. I do not think the Constitutional intent was to stagnate government.

Got anything else?

Yeah, just one question for you:

Know the difference between "moderate" and "following a scorched earth policy as regards everything put in front of them and yet offering no viable alternatives"?

Something both sides have done quite well over the years. I believe this sort of thing gave birth to the Constitutionl Party, The Libertarian Party, etc., etc.

Looking forward to Nov. '14. Should be interesting.

You do understand what the word, "checks" means?

Is it your suggestion that recalcitrance in Congress justifies the Executive to assume greater power than constitutionally authorized?
