Having gone to UVa, I am duty bound to hate all Tarheels. That said, way to go. UNC is a great school.

Tell him congrats!
FWIW - don't let him get burnt out... A friend studied that and nearly had to take a semester off to catch back up on life. He's not a 4.0 student, but got good grades. O-Chem and a few other science classes killed his personal life... :/

An extra 60k would have really helped those tuition bills....
Congrats to the kid, and his parents who must have done a good job raising him up right!

Congratulations Ben.
Tuition's like beer money for in-state residents. I have a sibling living down there in Onslow County. 2 daughters thru Chapel Hill; son went to State. (guess he was the lesser light - brawn not brain) O-chem!! O-Gawd !! Hardest course my daughter took in college... and she was no light weight. Isn't CH a pretty PC campus?? |

he has a college fund that I started when he was born. however, with interest rates so low, I am thinking of letting him get student loans instead then use the college fund money on a house down payment.

Congratulations!
I've been working out there a lot over the past week. Not nearly as fun as the spring time...

I'm hoping I can talk my kids into staying in our state university system. I'm not above bribing them with a sizable chunk of cash (nice house down payment money) upon graduation in return for not squeezing me near death financially, and/or tying that anchor around their necks, for the foreseeable future. You dirty old dog, you!
