There have been a few high profile types with guns on their person trying to board airplanes in Texas. It is always explained away as they just forgot they had it on them.

These seem to always be people who, if they were arrested, would scream to high heavens about how Obama was out to get them. I don't know of a single instance when one of them was arrested. They were just basically told to go and sin no more.

But I say throw the book at them and this guy, too. I can't think of a better example of people who should be forced to tell it to the Judge. It is always possible to make a mistake, but how could a gun owner not know they were taking a gun where one is not allowed?

You just can't make this **** up: truth stranger than fiction.

Does this apply only to those with liberal views or can we guess any and all hypocrites get a pass in your book?

We need to see some background on the affiliate owners before we can dismiss the possibility that the affiliate's editorial staff is even more conservative than the operators of that creepy website.

Hardly. Would you give the same pass to a Republican who advocated for gays to be outcasts and yet caught in bed with a man? I think not.

Guy screwed up for sure and needs to own up. Having said that I'm not so sure it's fair to call him a "gun control advocate". MAD DADS, his "activist" organization does far more than simply advocate for background checks and lobby for the NY SAFE act.
i can see how it would be entirely possible for somebody with a concealed carry permit who carries all the time to forget they were armed and enter a prohibited space.
