I can't quote the post because that thread has been locked, but I wanted to answer this.
Quote:
I'm somewhat puzzled by the Christian claim that all lives are of equal value. This obviously does not imply equal treatment since for those who don't accept Christ as their personal savior, they will be tormented for eternity in hell with unbearable suffering while the other portion that submits to God's will, gets to live a life of bliss. I suppose this hapless young man would have been better off living some more years, because at least life on Earth has some moments of pleasure. He might even have been redeemed in his later years, avoiding hell at the last moment. Now it's too late.

I'm sure you've heard of the Imago Dei in your studies.
This boy was an image bearer of God. Regardless of his actions his life was sacred, and had value.
And as heterodox as it seems sometimes I take a position similar to C.S Lewis in the Great Divorce. I couldn't make a judgement on this individual even if I knew him quite well. I can suggest or make a guess on his condition based on his actions/words in life, but even then I see through a glass darkly.
