x2, also I feel like if over a billion dollars were seized in a drug bust anywhere, it would be sensational international news, let alone 23 billion.

I think the article is wrong, its gotta be 23 million instead. still amazing

This talk of the volume of cash and how much it weighs reminds me of the 1997 Loomis Fargo Robbery in North Carolina. With a take of $17.3 million in mostly small bills, it was, at the time, the largest cash robbery on U.S. soil at the time.

1997 Loomis Fargo Robbery in North Carolina - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There is a very entertaining book written on the robbery called Heist by Jeff Diamant. I read it years ago and remember they underestimated the volume of money and had to leave MILLIONS BEHIND BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T FIT into the Ford van they used for the burglary. They also did about everything wrong imaginable after the heist such as driving from Charlotte to the Columbia, SC airport to fly to Mexico, only to find the airport closed when they arrived in the wee hours. They also conspicuosly spent loot on everything from velvet Elvises to mansions with no discernable source of additional income.

I did mention a few posts back that I might need a bigger truck. Do I get bonus points for that?

That's probably not much compared to what the guys in eastern Europe have.

Ever wonder where all the stolen art goes?

There's no way that's 22 billon dollars, even if they're all hundreds.
In pesos, maybe. Snopes lists the original email that sent those pics around, dated to 2007 by the way, as claiming it to be 206 million. About 1/100th of 22 billion, which I'd bet is about right.
Maybe in another 7 years it'll be 220 trillion.
