signs you are becoming a cantankerous old SOB

Im seeing it in myself, late youth is slipping away, early onset irascible old man is coming in.

My business is on "Roosevelt Ave", named after Teddy or FDR, its unclear. I also live on "Taft ave", after William Howard. On the phone I routinely say the name of the street, and say "as in Teddy" or "As in William Howard" relating to the two locations presidential namesakes as a hint to spelling.
Its bad enough when I get people who are obviously young, and have no idea what im talking about, but this week I received an entire legal document that went through 5 sets of experienced hands, where my business address is written "Roseyvelt", and no one knew this was wrong, when I clearly related repeatedly that it was named for the president.

I don't know whats worse, that all these people have such a lack of historical education that they have no idea who Teddy Roosevelt and FDR are, or, that they don't seem to care that they don't, and are professionals in various fields with up to 20 years of experience.
If my business was on "Kesha" avenue, no doubt any of them would have caught the mistake.

These kids today, i tell ya
the state of our education system, all these kids care about is bell bottoms, rock and roll, and free love

It may just have been overlooked, not a true signal of our culture's demise.

I don't know what specific signs would be. I'd tend to judge these things using the Clk Man-spdrun index.

I suppose sympathizing with this fellow is also a sign that you are starting to go over the edge.

Well we all get old other than the other option. You have to maintain a sense of humor and perspective when doing so or at least try. The younger generations judge you by it. All I am certain of is I did not expire before the 71st year. Unless my birth certificate is a fake.

It must the posters fault on how it was pronounced that threw them off.
Some say Rue za velt and some say Rose a velt. Plus the lack of history knowledge.

I knew I missed something about her name, it was the dollar sign! dovetails nicely with the talentless song-talk execution of her work
