You're tired? Did you know it's raining here today? And likely to rain again before the end of the week. We probably won't even get to ride our motorcycles until Sunday, and even then it probably won't even get to 70 degrees!

Winter...

We got snow today. We're supposed to get snow this weekend. And next week. I am so glad I got my snow tires on!!

Its 13 out and dropping. Tomorrows low is supposed to be -9F overnight, which would be the coldest yet this winter. They claim we'll not warm up till mid march or beyond. Its the longest winter ever. I am just glad there's not been much snow these past couple weeks, because I can use my 190d which has a real block heater and gives me heat right away in the morning. My 300SD has the snow tires, but just an oil pan heating pad, so it doesn't really warm up the motor and I have to drive 70% of the way to work with little to no heat....not fun. Its being retired or sold this summer....I am done freezing on my way to work every day.

damn, that 300SD has had a good long run. Sure you don't want to put it on a plinth or something?

Who said that? I'm watching the forecast discussions on various NOAA pages from the central valley north and am seeing rain storm total predictions of a couple of inches. Nice, but it won't break the drought.
We're going to get about the same here in AZ. Won't break our drought either but it might do some good for the spring grass and let me turn my drip lines off for a week or so.

Who says we'll get a couple of inches even? I'm seeing ~1". I wish it was more.

Its a possibility. :D I will probably end up parting it out and keeping the powertrain....As of July I'll have been driving it 11+ years and over 125,000 miles.

Heard on the radio that 2 storms are moving in to CA in the days ahead. The second will be 3-4 in of rain and up to 4 feet of snow in some places. It'll be moving east next week.... into frigid temps...and resulting snow.

Somewhere in the bowels of OD there's a year old thread about our mild winter last year and my comment about winter vacationing in Europe in 2013. The vagrant came home this year.;)

1" is what we were supposed to get from this storm.

The next one comes tonight and rains through Saturday night.

We're supposed to get 2 - 4".
