If you are greedy enough, you can have it BOTH ways.
Meet Rex... Rex Tillerson

This is indeed weird. Some years ago when I noticed they were drilling gas wells all up and down I-35 between Denton and Fort Worth I wondered what the folks that lived in the area would think of this activity.
Bartonville is a part of the Metroplex that is not on the way to anywhere and was once just a pretty bunch of ranch land. It is still somewhat difficult to get to and you are not going to drive there my mistake. People in this area have been griping about the drilling for years, but until now none of them had the expertise like Rex does. I don't know the guy, but folks tell me he is a real down to earth person and he does not like to be pushed around. He grew up working in the oil fields in North Texas, so he knows the business from the ground up. It will be interested to see what type of legal means he brings to bear on this. |

That headline seems rather intentionally misleading. He is suing the local water supply corporation for building a huge ugly water tower next to his land on property not zoned for such use. So definitely NIMBY, but any connection to fracking is tenuous at best.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a great headline.

Did you read it? "Why? Because the water tower being built next to Tillerson’s house that will supply the water to the near-by fracking site,"

"the lawsuit which, in an attempt to get rid of the water tower, goes to great effort to lay out the problems experienced by those who are subjected to the fracking process—problems that Tillerson has always been quick to dismiss when his company picks a location that is not in his own neighborhood. Perhaps there is a gem or more in here: http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/documents/water20140220.pdf

I read the original WSJ article when it appeared on Feb. 20th. They interview Mr. Tillerson's attorney, who states the plaintiff has never mentioned Fracking or traffic as a concern, only property values due to the above-the-tree-line water tower.
The Forbes article certainly provides a different slant, but does not seem nearly as well researched as the WSJ article. |

Nimby's are hypocrites and everyone is a nimby as soon as construction is threatened around them.
On the flip side maybe he is trying to shut down the operation so Exxon can buy it?

Perhaps you can link to the lawsuit which goes after the tracking company?

I track what they say in the link in the article linked. Maybe Forbes is making stuff up? By the way, you all know the difference between a developer and an environmentalist, right?
