Amen. I most likely would have died 13 years ago had not my parents had me well strapped into a child seat (rear-ended by an Econoline at ~45 MPH).

It's always sad reading about people who are killed at least in part due to not wearing seat belts :(. What a stupid way to go.

I don't understand why all states don't ban riding in the back of pickup trucks.

Nah that's not what Americans do. I think Hispanics have more claim to that, as 90% of the time I was in Honduras last summer we went places in the bed of a truck.
