It appears that it is a ladder frame of some sort.

A few years ago I saw something almost exactly like that except finished and painted with no bed topper. I was passing it on the interstate and tried not let the poor driver see me laughing. How ridiculous can you get?

There used to be someone around here who ran around with a mid-'80s GMC pickup on which he had replaced the bed with a matching cab pointing towards the rear . It looked like a very weird truck-sedan thing.

Talking

It would be amusing to watch someone try to parallel park that thing in San Francisco.

(Assuming they could even FIND that many vacant parking spaces in a row.)

Or try to watch it go around a corner in SF's Chinatown!

OTOH

It looks like a great vehicle for bringing illegal border jumpers that made it from Mexico to San Diego, up to the lettuce fields in the Central Valley above Fresno to Stockton..

If you think that truck is long you should see how steep the guy's roof is. Steeper than that even.

I've heard of that truck. I think it has a name ... and a mother. The story goes that every time it passes a junkyard it just keeps getting longer and longer.
