Duke Engines
Check this technology out. Looks rather exciting.

If Cosworth engineers are at the helm this engine is going racing ,not much more to say after an engine design is put through the rough program of proven endurance testing ,a racing program lets the engine prove it on a grand scale .

Very slick.
I wonder how they seal the face of the rotating cylinder block where it slides past the head. Seems like there would be a lot of wear there. It also seems as if there would be high stresses where the reciprocating motion of the pistons gets converted into rotation through that oscillator thing. That's some pretty fancy tinkering going on there. |

Cross Technology "Systema"
1.Two Stroke [Valveless]
2."Linear" [Axial] Radial engine 3.Rotary I can "See" this technology working. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______ (But I can also "See" the Chinook Self Imploding on the Ramp) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LFLV47VAbI Chinook CH-47 Helicopter Ground Resonance Test and Self Destructs with Rear Tandem Rotor Breaking - YouTube Flip side is: "Who Knew? Sullenberger has a rotary wing license Too" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSKFSuHl9Wk ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______ If they're really Cosworth Engineers they'll have a stash of room temperature Ale within 6 meters. I wholeheartedly agree, the Proof of the "Pie" is on the race track for this baby.

Cool design, I've seen similar ones before, but there's something about it that just seems inefficient. Lots of rotating mass and friction points.

One question they didnt speak too very much - where will the emissons come out ? it looks like it emulates a 4-stroke otto cycle, so it *should* be good, but will that be reality ?
... a simple 2 stroke will make more power, in a smaller package than the 4 stroke we all use, but emissions have kinda killed that. You can personally care or not care all you want about emissions, but if its your engine and you want it on the road, you need to care. -John

See the part where they talk about rpm not seen in conventional engines.
