Target is a US firm, based in St. Paul, I believe. They call it Tar-Zhay in pretend French, but that's sort of a joke.

Part of the problem here might be that the update has an 'm' at the end and it seems to be treating this PC like a mobile device. I now get all sorts of informational notices on pages about mobile versions being available to help my viewing. I think they slipped me the wrong version. When I try to reupdate it says already up to date. I wonder how long before they figure it out and this stuff goes away?

That is funny. I have no idea where I heard that it was a french company. They had a really gay (PC, I know) commercial with a clown or a mime and the music was Frère Jacques or Alouette. I thought it had to be french.

Net neutrality was brought into existance to begin discussion on what was coming down the pipeline .The guys that design software in the industry started seeing the warnings of how some companies were in action to gain complete access and control of how the internet is traveled .A dumbing down of the speed the internet may run at your location is know considered a device for these companies to pull money from you the consumer, you now have to pay for that speed .Anyone notice their surfing has slowed ? I have in the last few weeks.A barraige of spam doesnt jump on the viewed screen but hides behind your content being watched ,this is the first wave of interruption.
Here is a quote from a Corporate Coat "The conception of an idea for a companies profit should allow that corporation to then take it straight to the market place for immidiate gains" Jeff Skilling ,Enron Exec.He was in process of doing just this for Enron some 15 yrs ago but the infrustructure wasnt built yet, cable companies have it now. If you haven't updated yet, don't.
Here is another new feature, won't clear your search data. |

I'm going to look into that... interesting. Edit: they just mean that you can't clear yourself from the logs on the other end of the search engines, not that the content will not be deleted from your computer. When you go to a site, you're automatically assigned a session ID along with a timestamp and IP address. You can't purge that log from someone else's system as you don't own that data. Having that disclaimer there in the clear browsing history box is very misleading.

Key terms ? Policies & Principles ? Google If that's not what it is, what are you specifically referring to on the computer that is not getting cleared?

It takes you to a list of default search engines and a list of sites where you've autofilled data. You are then able to delete them or make them your default. Did you click the link I posted? It tells you what data search engines retain.
