Nurburgring Sold to American Investors in Surprise Move - Road & Track

An offer of €60-€70 million (US$82,464,000-$96,208,000), put forward by a consortium of investors led by American group H.I.G. Capital in Miami, has been accepted.

I would guess it's one of, if not the largest dedicated track in the world. Never been there but I've read that it's about the most challenging course there is.

But I've always heard cars tuned for there are rubbish everywhere else...........

any car tuned for the track will be rubbish on the street....

who said that any how? I have never heard that.

The youtube of the Veyron going flat-out on that track is pretty good. I think it's that track.

Correct. The VW test track has a nearly 2.5 mile straight shot I believe. He was able to get to the max 252mph or whatever by going around the track, and coming out of the final curve onto the straight as fast as possible. He then nailed the throttle. Crazy stuff.

Given the acreage, and the fact that there's already shopping centers and a theme park . . . I think it was all in the master plan.

I believe that the sale is for both the Nordschleife (old Ring) and the current track that was built to replace it in the 80's.
