I think the article said that the note was found in a seat, not the cockpit.

Although I think it was probably written by a total jerk, JP could easily be correct.

When I am a passenger in ANY airplane whether it be an Airbus 380 or a J3 Cub, I want the best pilot available as PIC. I don't care if that pilot is man, woman, or a polka dot kangaroo. I just want them to have a zillion hours flight time and the ability to make good decisions.

The only reasonable conclusion one can make from that is...
