We Should Have Skipped the Burrito and Bought the Stock Instead


The fast casual restaurant that just won’t quit blew by analyst expectations for its second quarter earnings report on Monday. Chipotle registered sales of $1.05 billion and earnings per share of $3.50, beating Wall Street’s predictions of $990 million and $3.08, respectively.

That's billion, with a B.

I'm getting all the small Haas avos I can buy for half a buck apiece at Walmart. Two small ones produce more edible product than one premium sized example that the grocery stores are getting a buck and a quarter for.
Food City has smaller ones for a quarter a pop this week. I eat two or three smalls a day. They're a staple around here. Even this cheap, they're still hideously expensive compared to what they can be had for in Mexico. A buck a KILO last time I was across the border a few weeks ago. Thank the CAL-Avo grower's cartel in Californica for that.
