Says a lot about the quality of a police welfare check. I think if i was a neighbor I'd have been a little more curious.

Roy! Here is a house with no inhabitants for six years and not broken into. Its not Detroit but I think Pontiac on the north edge of Detroit is not known to be much safer than Detroit, is it?
I lived there for 6 months back in 1974.

The neighbours next door where I grew up were not present when they should have been. Final report was they died within hours of each other from natural causes.
They were somewhat a miserable couple. It was rumoured they sold their land for the ford factory of Canada to build their facility on. My mother kept tabs on older aquaintences and friends that lived alone. Surprisingly enough she had two die over the years. She had the police break in to the two residences. |

A guy near me once bought a phone/answer machine combo from a thrift store. He noticed there were seven messages on it so he played them.
They started out with 'call me back' to 'I am coming over to check on you'. The time stamp showed there was one call a day for seven days. But on the other hand, if the phone's owner was dead, then why would they care? |
