Chrysler orders pre-production Vipers destroyed

Chrysler to community college: Crush ’92 Viper we gave you | Local News | The Seattle Times

How about giving the parasitic lawyers who ordered this the Giles Corey treatment instead of doing it to the cars?

Chapman said he was told by a company official that the destruction of 93 vehicles is the result of two educational Vipers that “got loose” and were involved in accidents, costing parent company Fiat millions of dollars.
Good enough reason for me. The world will be a better place without them.

Guess we should ban all motorized vehicles, then.

Again, problem is ambulance-chasing scum which sue the entity with the biggest pockets rather than the people actually responsible. And judges which don't beat said parasites senseless with a gavel before throwing them out of a courtroom window. If they risked defenestration rather than disbarment, maybe they'd think twice.

I get the legal reasoning. I don't know about the world being a better place with out the Viper. Not a great car granted but it is pretty unique in the world. A light car with a beast of an engine. What's not to love..... Lol

I have driven one on several occasions. Calling that POS a sports car is an insult to sports cars. It drives like a 1970s pickup truck with a pathetic bed.

Sounds like the perfect ride for some lawyer that was drummed out of the profession years ago for moral turpitude and hadn't changed his clothes ever since

Well, he'll change them after dumping a load in his pants when it gets away from him...

I'd also love to. Oddly enough, when the production version came out, Jeremy Clarkson, who generally hates anything American, loved it.

From what I've heard about them, the experience is probably similar to what I get driving my 300D on a sheet of ice, only on clean dry pavement. IOW, more power than the chassis can really use, but in a fun sort of way.

About fifteen years ago I had a client who had a couple of them. He took me out to the new four lane bypass on the southwest side of town and ran it up to 165. It felt like nothing. Then there was a cross road coming up so he braked it back down to bout 65...no sweat.

He had me in one another time on a little two lane and started goosing it around and swerving back and fourth. That made me nervous caus I was not sure we wouldn't end up in the ditch with a fence post penetrating the upside down cockpit.

He got rid of all vipers shortly thereafter saying he needed to keep his license.

I've never driven one. Big engines and big tires don't interest me nearly as much as light cars with precise steering.
