Happy news for me today
I got some very good news today:)! I'm interested in studying mechanical engineering in college, and we applied to four engineering schools with MechE programs. Today we heard back from the first one -- a state school 15 minutes from us, UMass Lowell, the state school in the area known for engineering. I was accepted and given a renewable scholarship that would reduce my tuition to pennies. This is very welcome news, as I'm highly suspicious of the idea of amassing any debt and this would definitely provide a debt-free path through a decet school :). Of course, I would still wait to hear from other schools before making any decisions, but it's very nice to know that a good option is already at hand.
I'm kinda happy right now and having trouble settling down :) (and also using too many smilies :)). |
Congrats!! Comes as no surprise to me, hopefully the others are just as positive!

why wait? if i were in that position, id jump on it. id give anything to be in a position to go back to school again.

Very good news! My youngest son just got his ME this past May and is already working as a design engineer at a local (to him) company. ONe point in your decision: When youngest was in school he often had issues that could have been solved quickly and easily at home but being a couple hundred miles away required mcuh effort. More than once I shipped him parts for his 126. Failed voltage regulator/alternator diagnosis and repair took over a week and I had to ship a whole alternator to him. Any illness was also an issue. Not to mention when the $$$ ran low, eating became more interesting. There are advantages to living at/near home.

nice work. go for it

Hell yeah jooseppi!
Well done, now don't blow the last month of senior year on booze, boobs, and blow. :D 2 seniors in my HS graduating class lost their scholarships because they succombed to senioritis. Finish strong! |
