No Liberal Bias in the Media?
Sharyl Attkisson resigns from CBS saying that she can no longer deal with their liberal bias.
No, there's no liberal bias in the mainstream media. |

But Attkisson had become a polarizing figure at the network, sources there said. While some championed her relentless dedication to investigations — ranging from defective Firestone tires to the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal — others saw evidence of a political agenda, particularly against President Barack Obama. (The bulk of Attkisson’s work since 2009 has focused on the failures or perceived failures of the Obama administration, including its failed green-energy investments and the attack in Benghazi, though she has reported on several Republican failures as well.)
Others have suggested that CBS News itself was politically biased: “It’s no secret that Sharyl has been unhappy about CBS’s lack of interest in investigative reporting, especially when it comes to stories about the Obama administration,” a source close to Attkisson said. Attkisson’s frustrations aside, the network maintains a dedicated investigative unit, which produces packages that appear across CBS News programming. Attkisson joined CBS News from CNN in 1993. She served as an overnight anchor for two years before becoming a Washington-based correspondent, a position she held until this week. She has won five Emmy awards for her reporting on Fast and Furious, the Red Cross, Republican fundraising, TARP and border patrol. Sharyl Attkisson resigns from CBS News - POLITICO.com |

How do you know that Attkisson is not the one with an unhealthy bias?

Care to document her "health" problems? Or any media personalities which appears to be biased (are there any which are truly not biased)?

All reporters are biased. I don't know anything about Attkisson or her biases.

Thats a new one, someone doing their job is polarizing. I only hope that is not the feeling where I am employed.

All people have points of view. I don't see the point of calling it 'bias'. As I see the meaning of the word, it implies it's possible to be 'unbiased', as if there's some politically neutral perspective available to a person. If such a thing exists, I've never seen it.

I want NO bias in the news. She claims that CBS has a liberal bias and is giving up her job because of it. She probably does have her own bias, as everyone does. Problem is, it's a journalists job to report facts and not spin. I want THE FACTS with no editorial spin or withholding of information. I also want everyone else to have ONLY THE FACTS, so that they too can draw their own conclusion rather than being led around by a nose ring. "Just the facts Ma'am." |

Yes, everyone does indeed have their personal POV. Nothing wrong with that. For a journalist, however, they are supposed to present the facts, not their opinions or spin, especially when it is so obviously simply for the purpose of furthering the agenda of a particular party or politician. That means in EITHER direction. I don't want conservative spin, OR liberal spin. I just want the facts to be reported, so that we all can draw our OWN conclusion from honest and accurate facts. A pipe dream in today's America I know, but that's what we SHOULD be getting from them. |

Well there you have it. All the proof any right-minded person could ever need of liberal bias in the media.
End of discussion. Case closed. Move along.

I haven't sided with her. I simply used her statement to make a point and to start a thread. That said, to answer your question, what's a network to do? An honest network, that truly wanted to report the facts instead of promote an agenda ( not that any such network exists) should fire such a journalists ass. This would NOT happen today, unless the hypothetical journalist were not promoting the networks agenda. |

Who said that it was all the proof you ever need? I missed that. What I DID point out, however, is one more simple indication of the media's obvious (to anyone except the left wing zealots) common left wing bias and dishonest promotion of their own agenda. For someone on the left wing tip themselves, the left wing tip appears to them to be the middle of the airplane. |
