I've gotta brag...Sweet ammo find!
Walmart lifted their limit from all ammo except .22. My kids and I ventured out today, looking for ammo for a range day we have planned at the end of the month. I found that Walmart had Winchester white box of 115gr 9mm for $26.99...a little more than I paid prior to the panic buys, but not too bad. I bought all 8 boxes of it...800 rounds. Half of that will be used up during our trip to the range in Ohio, and the other half will be used at our local range.
I also found a box of Remington .22lr in a 525 pack. Add that to what I already have, and I'm now back to having more than 1200 rounds. I took a trip a few doors down to Dunham's, and found a single box of .22lr, a 50 round box, that someone had opened and stole 20 rounds. I talked to the manager, and he sold it to me for 60% off. I was happy with that. I also saw that they had their spam cans of 7.62X54R on sale again...440 rounds for $129. Surprisingly, they accepted the 20% off discount they sent me via text message. All in all, a good ammo hunting day. I need to pick up 2 of the 100 packs of 12ga that Walmart had, but they always have them, so that can wait until we get to Ohio.

I don't need bullets, primers or brass. I need POWDER. Lots and lots of POWDER. Good find on factory stuff JP. My local WM is still be-seiged by morons every morning. Still nothing in the case but .270 I've seen up to 4 FTFs per 50 on that WWB in .45 from Walmart. If you're shooting semi auto, listen for squibs!

I don't know if it's worth reloading. Maybe I should sell chances to shoot it at the range, and make back some cash?

Have you noticed any difference between the Hungarian vs Russian spam cans?

My experience is that the Hungarian is a bit dirty, but an overall good ammo. Russian isn't as good...loss of accuracy, dirty cases, etc.
I want to try the Yugo with brass cases...the best out there, so I've been told.

You're all lucky finding ammo in the walmart in the first place.
Up here you're lucky to find anything but a few of the odder calibers in the case, if your store even stocks ammo.

Yeah! Call homeland security, quick.
We've been cleaning out my moms house getting it ready to sell. I came home yesterday with over 200 .357 Mag, rounds, 60 30-30 rounds and one of those pint milk cartons of.22 rounds. I'm not low on anything and have a good supply of reloading components, but I don't have much .22 ammo, so I have missed the plinking that I used to enjoy. The lack of .22 shooting practice has taken a minor toll on my general marksmanship. Practice makes perfect. |

My last load of ammo cans she gave me netted me a good amount of ammo I could use, and ammo that I blame for the purchase of a few shotguns. Hey, no sense having ammo and not having the firearm to properly and safely dispose of said ammo, right? Oh, well...at least my wife agreed with that logic. Remember...there's nothing wrong with 20 year ammo...it will still shoot, provided the powder didn't get wet.
