FOX vs. The Daily Show

When will they ever learn?

Fox News Welfare Academy - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - 03/13/14 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

2014: A Waste Odyssey - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - 03/13/14 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

Is $4B more or less than $3B?

The Weakest Lincoln Game Show

Figures lie and liars figure. Fox knows that if they just toss the numbers out there their average viewer is not going to take the time to think through them. Put a bit of spin on the ball and it is easy to make their viewers come to the conclusions they are supposed to reach.

Fox News biggest problem is that they leave themselves open to such corrections by people like Stewart. But then, if they didn't dress up their news with emotions they would have nothing to offer. The bottom line is their demo is not too worried about the truth as long as what they hear makes them feel good about themselves.

OK.
But saying it like that would lead people to conclude that no other networks engage in the same practice. Do you believe that it is only Fox that does this, or are they of the same cloth as the MSM? Or, do you not care because you agree with the bias of networks other than Fox?

Nothing wrong with being partisan. It only annoys when they claim everyone else is Parisian and they are objective.

People who watch fox news are generally using it to keep their fantasy-land alive. Accuracy is not what they are looking for.

Makes it that much easier for shows like the Daily show to highlight their mistakes and misinformation.

You are ignoring the fact that it is a matter of degree. Much like Fox News itself you seem to think that everything is equal when it is not and claiming such will not make it true.

It is one thing to offer your take on a subject and quite another to have a total disregard for the facts. It is also one thing to say this is our point of view and another to say these are the facts and can you believe it? They just so happen to line up with what we what you to think.

If Fox News is unhappy with anyone pointing out where they are shading the truth and pushing a line of nonsense then there is a simple fix for this. They can either buy every other network in the entire world or they can stop running stories full of invented outrage.

I used to watch The Daily Show for the jokes. Their ratings were OK. When they made the decision to switch to skewering Fox News for the out and out nonsense they were pushing TDS ratings went up by quite a bit.

Fox's main problem is that they make it so easy to point out where they are pushing their agenda while ignoring the facts of the matter. But as long as they can keep people upset with the ones who are pointing out that they have nothing real to offer their ratings should do alright.

Rush Limbaugh had the same problem at one time. He finally started warning his aud to avoid specific web-sites since the sites spent too much time pointed out where Rush was wrong or making stuff up. Now that Fox News has started to do the same it can only mean that The Daily Show is starting to grate on them and they are scared for their ratings.
