Turn off engine and put car in park but do not apply the parking brake. Chock the front wheels. Raise one rear wheel just high enough off the ground that the tire no longer touches the ground. Attempt to turn the wheel by hand but be careful not to get your fingers between the tire and the ground. Do this, one wheel at a time for each side. The side that will turn will more than likely havea blown CV joint. Only other posibility is blown flex disc on driveshaft. If it is a bad CV, you will probably find the rubber boot has failed allowing the grease to exit and all manner of grit/water/salt to enter. Just replace the entire axleshaft on the side with the blown CV.
