If you are not a Stock Holder what makes it a Lousy Company?

Buying on eBay has saved Me a lot of Money even though the occasional Seller is a little troublesome. I also am able to get things that would be difficult to find locally.

In fact I bought My 84 300D Mercedes site unseen on eBay.

I've bought a whole bunch of stuff on Ebay. Never had any issues.

I bought on eBay daily for awhile a year ago. Glad I haven't bought in that year, I'd be pretty livid right now.

Could be BS. eBay could overpopulate the globe with their inactive users. They may just be checking to see if any of them care anymore.

eBay tried forever to be Walmart. Now that they sell all of the cheap crap made in china and have gotten away from what made them a success they are wondering where all of the customers went. Hint: they are shopping at Walmart, still, like they always did.

Realize that we have a generation that never knew the world without Walmart, the Revelation or the Apocalypse generation.

Well.....after I cleaned the coffee off my computer I was able to gather my thoughts and offer up the following..... Ebay car purchasers do NOT have the opportunity to inspect a car, drive it and look at verified service records UNLESS the seller agrees to allow and provide the aforementioned items PRIOR TO BIDDING and that doesn't happen often.

Unless I had had a five year or longer relationship with ANY Ebay seller and KNEW for a fact (that means they had allowed me unfettered access to the vehicle, i.e. let me drive it, see the service records, take it to a mechanic of my choice for inspection, etc.) that their vehicle offerings were trustworthy, I wouldn't touch any Ebay car, truck or suv deal with an 800 mile pole!!!!!

Playa, sucka, you've been had, sociopathic car salesman, etc etc.

Having had to deal with Okie trash who bought an item from me on Ebay WITHOUT READING THE DESCRIPTION and then left bad feedback after getting exactly what I described makes me miserable, yeah. I did eventually make a deal with the Okie that he would retract the feedback after sending the item back and getting his money (minus my costs) back, but that took time. I made sure to post his name, phone #, email (to provide fodder for spam bots) and address on a "buyers to avoid" board after all was settled.

The EBay of 5-6 years ago allowed sellers to leave bad feedback on problem buyers, so buyers thought twice and tried to resolve issues BEFORE leaving bad feedback. Not to mention a certain buyer who bid on an item, never paid or contacted me, then started whining when I re-sold the item a few weeks later to another buyer after an unpaid item case. Again, wasn't allowed to leave bad feedback on the little turd.

Unless you've tried to sell items on EBay recently, you probably haven't noticed how much the changes in EBay's policies have enabled problem buyers. I much preferred EBay when it was a service to match small-time buyers and sellers on equal terms, not a glorified version of Amazon.com with an auction format.

I bought a car on EBay about 10 years ago. I went to Long Island to look at the car a few days before the auction ended, made the seller a cash offer, had him cancel the auction. End result: since the auction was cancelled early enough, EBay got exactly zilch in commissions apart from his insertion fee.

I've used Ebay quite a bit lately, purchasing e-cig/vaping items. You have to beware of who you purchase from, those that I purchase from are highly regarded in the vaping community. These are the sellers that have very high feedback ratings and are known to sell authentic branded items instead of clones.

I have saved hundreds of dollars purchasing from Ebay versus the brick and mortar stores, just in battery mods and coils.

I refuse to purchase e-juice from anyone on Ebay...I don't trust the Chinese on that.

I have been buying, and selling on ebay for years. I likely spend a thousand or more a month buying appliance parts.

I also sell about the same amount. Its a bit frustrating sometimes, people buy appliance parts they dont need, and you ahve to accept the return in order to be a "top rated seller"

I currently have a customer that is returning a new washer timer (not new anymore) because it did not solve his problem.. duh. Now I have to relist a "slightly used" one.

Overall, ebay is an excellent platform. I gladly pay 20% of my sale in order to reach millions of customers. Ive sold some of the most obscure stuff imaginable. About 2-3% of the customers are problematic.

On the buying end, I can buy the same quality parts cheaper than wholesale. Delivered.
