Thought on driverless vehicles
All over the media lately. How long before they replace suicide bombers? $ vs. life.
|
I think once the bugs are ironed out it will be a good thing. Sure if it happens in my life time I will miss driving but I cannot see how it would not reduce traffic fatalities to at least near zero.
The plus side is you get in, program your destination, sit back, read a book, catch up on work or just take a nap. Sounds like a plan to me. spdrun rant in 3.....2......1...... |

I'm keeping my human-driven car for as long as legal, then moving to a 3rd world country where no one can afford the tech. Ned! Ludd!

I've already got American Greed and Dallas Car Sharks set to record.
Can you get a dui riding in a car being driven by a computer while you are loaded? These cars will be the best thing yet for ppl that tend to drink and drive:eek:. I drove a 2014 E class the other day that shakes the steering wheel whenever you get on the center line or the line to the right. Felt like a computer game:rolleyes:. Thinking about it though, that is nothing. I've had cars that the steering wheel shook anytime you got above about 30 mph:D. |

Considering the level of competence of most of our human drivers, can it really be any worse?

I say, invest in public transit instead. More bang for the buck.
