There have been at least 500 reports of abuse by ex-BBC presenter Jimmy Savile, NSPCC research for Panorama has found. BBC News - Jimmy Savile abuse reports 'reach 500'

To play devils advocate:

Remember all the day care child abuse accusations in the 80s that in many instances turned out to be 'leading question' orchestrated and it lead to hysterical finger pointing and many accused being found innocent of any wrong ?

I am beginning to see a similar hysteria by the nuwz media and maybe a few attention seekers . Anyone who was actually subject to inappropriate behavior is obviously entitled to accuse the perpetrator, but some police interviews are being dropped because some complainants are way to nebular in the details/place/time/individual etc.

My granddaughter when 4, was abducted by a predatory guy out of Moore OK Wal-Mart around 1;30 pm. I was able to see the abduction from across the car park but fortunately a Wal-Mart worker taking a smoke break asked the guy about her and abductor let her go and took off around the tire bay.

I sprinted across the car park whilst watching the worker taking my g/d into the store. I got there and saw her at the 'customers help' desk and we were able to call for mom to come to the desk. Mom was in a terrible state, looking all over for her .

If I had been able to catch that sob, who knows what might have happened. He later tried to abduct two young girl away from the toy department again as he had with my g/d, but this time was identified and caught by the Moore police.

Although my experience was first hand view of the whole episode, now some 14 years later I doubt I could pick the guy out in a line up or even identify the worker who saved the day. So how is a child or young adult after many years to do the same with accuracy ?

I can see innocent lives being trashed with little to no recourse.....just as the day care episode accused. Does this mean there should be no inquiry? No, but there should be total anonymity for the accused until it is proved beyound all reasonable doubt the accusations have foundation.

I'm getting sick of this 'trial by tabloid/tv' that seems to ignore the presumption of innocents under law.
