Missing plane.

There was a lady on a sailboat passage that was in the rough flight path of the missing plane in the indian ocean. She claims she saw a plane on fire at approxamatly half it's normal cruising altitude at night with an abnormal black smoke trail behind it..

Did not report it as she did not believe her own eyes. Now she has reported it. She knew nothing of the loss of the plane until they made landfall some time much later. Personally I still feel there is at least a small possibility the cargo of lithium batteries could have played into this Disaster.

Who know what the truth is but I found her report interesting. She is 41 years old and wants no publicity. She apparently studies the stars when on the night watch to pass the time. She was astute enough to feel it was not a celestial object as the speed was too slow. She was well aware of the time when she saw this and it tends to fit.

What? She waited TWO+ MONTHS? to report this? She can't have lived on a desert island THAT long, could she have?

This was ALL over the media in March and April. Now we are in June.

This information is pretty useless - regardless of her mental state/sobriety without at least the precise co ordinates where she claims she saw this - and even then, the plane hadn't crashed yet - so if it was flight 370 - and that is a pretty big if - it may still have flown on longer before it went down,

,,,keeping all this in mind, still -- the search over the Indian Ocean now has been called off as hopeless.

This adds information that helps little.

And the theory that the plane landed in some hidden hostile location has yet to be verified or disproven.

Can anyone see smoke at night? For that matter, how does one determine normal altitude?

She had her position recorded at the time.

The ocean is hostile enough. Especially in the suspected area. I am kind of glad the search was called off.

Looking for a needle in a haystack at some risk to the searchers to me justifies the calling it off. The winter season is approaching there now I suspect add to the risks.

. There is just too many possible locations in my mind anyways. The passengers will see no difference if the plane is located or not anyways. The sighting of a plane on fire if true is important. Quietly they have done even more about eliminating those batteries on passenger flights.
