How far will your kid go?

‘Dating Lesson’ Asks Eighth-Grade Girls To Publicly Declare How Far They Will Go Sexually

Teacher had signs up .. Kissing, hugging, above/below waist, petting, all the way .... Etc.

Some parents are pisssed. I'm not a parent but I would think if peer pressure can affect a choice of signs, I'd be a bit more worried about what peer pressure will do when it really counts. Seems like a learning moment for parents to talk about sex and peer pressure with their kids.

Yea, you are probably right. Ignoring one of the highest teen pregnancy in the western world and telling them to 'just say no' works so much better.

If it is below the waist, is it still called kissing?

That's the advanced class. This is 8th grade. I do not think there are doing combo's yet but given the teen pregnancy rate I could be wrong.

It seems to me that taking sexual education out of the hands of parents and teaching it in public schools hasn't done a damned bit of good. It has brought sexuality into the limelight. When you bring this to a group setting of children, they think it's okay to discuss it amongst themselves and to explore it and experiment...because it was taught in school by their teachers.

Getting back to family values and strong morals is the best way to teach children.

Puhlease! Turning on the TV does way more than any public school attempts at sex ed ever will to create a nation of hyper-sexualized animals.

Why is it that nearly every other western nation has lower teen pregnancy and sex ed?

Yep, family values and strong morals worked so well for the Palin house hold. Sarah Palin and two of her children got pregnant out of wed lock. Bristol Palin was 17 when she was pregnant. Are you implying that the kids who have sex out of wed lock come from families of poor morals and values?

If parent would actually deal with their kids regarding sex that would be one thing. Judging from the pregnancy rate it seems obvious that they are not. Kids have been exploring sexuality long before they were given condoms in school or talking about in class.

What we teach the kids about sex in school does not pass for sex ed in my opinion.

Could you point out the decade when family values and strong morals were last prevalent in American society? I'll wager that your response would coincide with the decade of your childhood.

The problem is, some house holds do not teach it. Miss in-laws did not and will not give any of their kids the sex talk. In fact , when it was sex education week, they kept the kids home. My wife decide to do her own research and educate herself at an early age. Her sisters , well , they know where babies come from.

Keeping it all in the family may be a step in the wrong direction given the high rates of incest.

Deposit your losing wagers in my paypal account...I'm willing to pm you the email addy for it.

Every generation has had issues with teen pregnancy...I personally don't see how government involvement does any good. How many millions of dollars have been wasted on it, when encouraging families to instill values and morals is cheaper and more effective?

Why is that the rest of the western world has substantially lower teen pregnancy than the US? Are our kids just sluts?
