I have never followed Rushes life so I don’t' know the details of what has happened to Him but as far as I know He is still self supporting and so on. Not the same as a Heroin Addict.

Another way to look at it is My Great Grandmother and both Grandmothers were Smokers and they all told Me never to start because it was a Nasty Habit and they could not quite.

I never thought they were Hypocrites for saying that and except for about 2 years of Pipe Smoking (like Clinton I never inhaled) I followed their advice.

I missed one. My best Friends Grandfather also told Me not to start Smoking; usually as He was lighting up.

From the title of the Thread the impression I got was that Religion was being ridiculed when as you say the focus should rightfully be on the Person who did the deed.

That is why I commented as I did.

Beside hypocrisy another Human trait seems to be that that Rules/Regulations and Laws apply to someone else. So People say and act differently.
We see this in Politics, Celebrities, Church Leaders and on down to ourselves if We are willing to admit it.

In this case a Crime or Crimes were committed and if that is true they should be vigorously prosecuted.

I would agree with that it the Title of the Thread was something ike "Let us Pray for pedophilia to go away" instead of "Pray Away the Pedophilia". The meanings are not the same.
