Theories of Gravity.....

One thread raging on here opened up the discussion of the theory of gravity. One poster said that was a topic for another thread, so here it is!

I don't believe in gravity. Newton was wrong. Prove it.

cmbdiesel 06-26-2014 07:49 PM

In the beginning, God created gravity.....

Don't let gravity get you down.

davidmash 06-26-2014 07:51 PM

Prove it. What created god?

This thread is ripe for dead baby jokes involving the THEORY of gravity.

Einstein's theory was first—and dramatically—confirmed during a solar eclipse within four years of its publication, making him an instant celebrity. When asked how he would have felt if he had been proven wrong, Einstein replied: "I would have felt sorry for the Lord. The theory is correct."

You guys need to deal with this issue with more gravity.

I thought that Einsteins long accepted theory of gravity was in some dispute. His theory was the bending of light was the causative basically if I remember.

To me it is more a functional characteristic of the quanity of mass. The greater the mass the more attraction it generates. Density of the mass of course would also play into this.

For an example the moon has a much lesser mass than the earth so it has only 1/25th of the gravity of earth. This can be disputed as there is less light being refracted around it as well I suppose.

I like simple explanations. When the moon is shadowed by the earth does it's gravity system fail? Or vice versa.

During a total eclipse does the earth undergo a signifigant gravity reduction? I think not. Of course I can always be in serious error.

Anyways, however it goes and whatever is right. I have not fallen off this place yet.:D
