Creating statistical data, pie charts and percentage scale charting?

Looking for a program or website that can be sourced to create a pie chart or visual scale chart - as pertains to time, percentages, dollars, etc.

Trying to provide via email for some current and future statistical charting for a Niece in college to do some comparative analysis of factual material and data.

For basic charts and graphs, they are very easily done in Excel.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Execl is great. If you have a table of data, it has a chart wizard that will analyze the data and automatically populate the chart fields. You choose the type of chart that best suits your needs and edit the legend. That's pretty much it.

There's also something called "open office" that's supposed to mimic MS office programs. It's also supposed to be free. I've never used it so I can't tell you any more about it.

Google charts API is very powerful but if you are not excel proficient then it will be a challenge. Google docs will also do some basic charts and graphs.

I've used OpenOffice before, it's not bad for freeware. Chances are he has ms office already installed on his comp though

OK, found the Google assortment of graphs. Filling out a pie-chart is step 1 for me. My challenge is going to be transcribing it for storage w/o a printer, and transporting filled out w/data charts via email to my Niece in Omaha. I guess I could provide her the raw data, and she could create these graphs, but that would take the umph factor out of the information I want to convey.

You'll want to export to excel, or save to .xls or .xlsx file to send to someone.

A pie chart is easy as, well, you know. It's just one line of data. If you find you're having trouble and the data isn't of a personal nature, you can send it to me in a PM and I'll create a chart with the information in about 2 minutes.

I can then save it as an Excel file or make a screen grab of it and save it as a picture.

Or you can do a screen capture of the image and send that.

Beats me how anyone gets through college without MS Office, which includes Excel. If she uses a Mac there's iWork, which also includes a spreadsheet-graphing program. My son uses both. There are academic versions of both that come at a discount.
