My sympathies. The 2004 Republican convention in NYC was a zoo, and not in a good way. Here's hoping that NYC does not get the 2016 'rat convention, or at least that I'm far, far away from town during the festivities.

How it affects you is, after all, all that really matters.

Honestly, I dislike both parties equally. I don't see an influx of lying slime having a positive influence on any city. Let them stay in DC -- at least the foulness is confined to one city.
Then again, I suppose I could make some money by subletting my apartment at an inflated price to one of their groupies while I get the heck out of town, so maybe it's not all bad. To most New Yorkers, the DNC is as welcome as an aggressive Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man marching down Broadway. |

A GOP candidate needs OH electoral college votes more than OH needs a GOP convention.

Texas is going to vote Republican, so Cleveland was the sure bet since it might just tip the scale for the Republicans. But Dallas is a place set-up for a worry and drama free convention. Can Cleveland really cope with a circus of this size? |
