One day a guy I knew came into the coffee shop and started telling us how his company was now paying for bus passes. He worked in downtown Dallas, so beating the traffic and not paying for parking was a big deal for him.

But he did notice some very odd people rode the bus. Sock puppet guy, loud mouth woman, bug-eye guy.... And every now and then a real strange person would get on.

So we bought a tape of Weird Al's, the one with 'Another One Rides the Bus', and played it for him. He said it was as accurate a description as anyone could come up with and that Weird Al had even dialed it back a bit.

We gave him the tape. He wrapped it up and gave it to the bus driver who later told him it was a big hit down at the bus barn.

Mandatory Fun debuted at #1 on the charts last week. Al's first #1 and the first comedy album to top the charts. In an interview with Tom Green, Al recalled joking in a promo before the release that the album went to #1. As a chart topping artist, I think Al should do the super bowl halftime show next year. Who is with me?

The Superbowl is watched around the world by at least one billion viewers. The half time show is supposed to be the best of what America has to offer at the time.

That being said... You can't get any weirder than Weird Al, and if you are looking for the best you need to look no further.

The only problem I could see is that for his material to be funny you need to know the material he is spoofing. Unless the songs he was performing were known the world over he would just look..... Weird.

But I say go for it. If you are looking to entertained Weird Al puts on a first class show.
