People are always complaining about not enough pressure at the kitchen sink. Yesterday I went to a lady's house - semi regular client, she has a Danze brand faucet, wants more pressure. I have two supply lines left over from somewhere that I joined at the 1/2 pipe thread end, that way I can attach the 3/8 compression to the supply valves to check the pressure in the pipes and have enough length to easily reach to a bucket or even up and into the sink. Major pressure displayed with that test.

I have encountered some of the more modern Delta style faucets that get filled with tiny rust bits or other junk and it can be hard to find and get out. This house is new enough that it has all copper pipes, so it's not rust. I've also seen some faucets that don't have good pressure right out of the gate. I'm thinking WTF?

Anybody know a reliable brand that doesn't have that problem?

I wonder if there would be a market for some sort of pump that can be temporarily connected to "blow out" a bad faucet. Delta is ... not great. Use Moen stuff. Not high-end but workmanlike quality and easily available parts.

I too like Moen. I recommended that to the lady who then went to Home Depot and declared she likes either an Am. Standard model or one by Delta.

I found some brands models have inadaquate internal passage size somewhere in their design . Actually the few danze sets I have installed where not the absolute best but not the worse either.

My experience with a brand called eurostream was not good in regard to volume of flow. They are truly really bad. As you said a general increasing complaint level that problem is becoming more common.

The wife has been on my posterior to get the kitchen set at the cottage changed out for the same reason. I have to agree those eurostream are pathetic.

I think the danze lower cost line is the old peerless company product manufactured in China. I never hear much bad about moen and parts are usually out there locally. I used to lock onto one brand and stay with it. I guess it will be moen now as long as prices are reasonable and parts availability remains good .

The last stuff I installed was American standard. They once where really good but those days are gone now. Plus parts availability locally will be scarce. Flow rate is barely adequate on the kitchen set I installed. I did like their vanity taps though.

Yup, I avoid American Standard. A shame, not a good sign that a company with that name is moving towards the rear of the pack.

A big time plumber on another site recommended Moen as being good bang for the buck. Plumbing is hard to fake - in person or online. I can tell this guy is the real deal. I've bought a couple of Moen pieces and they've done well for me.

I solved this same problem with a giant water filter below the sink ( I get Detroit water, yum!) and a Moen faucet.

We had a Kohler faucet put in after our Plumber recommended it. It's been good. We went to a faucet store, not Home Depot, to get it -- don't know if that makes a difference (say, if they make a cheaper version for HD).

I usually find some bits of stuff in it restricting flow. Usually black for some reason. The total removal of the restrictor where flow is an issue has not gained me much usually. I suppose one could find one more totally restricted than I have though.

It is really discouraging to see the small size of the fluid transport passages in some of the cartridges as well. One wants heavy flow available from a kitchen faucet. From what I see in too many cases many just can not and never will deliver.

I've never had any issues with faucets....I have a delta diamond valve kitchen faucet (single handle) I put in 4+ years ago, still works fine. My basement bathroom I constructed from scratch is higher end American standards (tub/shower valve, sink, and toilet) no issues there either....Other faucets upstairs are moen. Had to replace a valve cartridge on one 3 years ago but that's it. Tub has 55+ year old original Briggs faucet valves, STILL works fine, no leaks. I suppose the seals may have been replaced before, but I've never had to touch them.

Then again our water system around here is above the national average in quality, so that probably helps too.

I'm a Delta fan. At least for their somewhat higher end products. Have matching Delta Victorian faucets in the kitchen. Lifetime warranty on all the parts. The soap dispenser pump came apart. Quick phone call and the part is on my doorstep three days later. The trim around the aerator developed a tiny imperfection in the finish. Same thing. New part delivered.

Regardless of past experience. For guys like myself that only do plumbing infrequently. It may be best to ask a plumber what is currently decent. Many companies abuse their good names when shipping the manufacturer of their production to new countries.

The products like I found with American standard are way down in quality today from being an expensive good reliable standard in the past. We purchased some of them from my son in law when he was an engineer for a heating/plumbing concern.

I was really disappointed at the cheapness of the kitchen facets. The vanity facets still seemed decent. Overall I will not purchase that brand again even though we had access to it very cheap. These where not really cheap taps at regular retail either.

Delta and Moen seem to have a decent following currently. The best thing is parts are easy as well for both brands. Some brands that where decent seem to fade away with time.

I've installed several kitchen sinks and it's surprising how small the passages are. Especially the cartridge or "ball" style valves that have 3/16" holes for the water to pass through.

I would be curious to see a modern faucet system that was not handicapped this way. Maybe commercial faucets are better?
