New Top Gear. Anyone watch?

I watched the new Top Gear with Matt LeBlanc as the co-host. I was not overly impressed. Seemed too much like the US version. In other words, too forced and scripted. Jeremy, James and Richard just seemed to have fun together.

I will probably watch the nee Top Gear if they have a cool car on but I found my self fast forwarding through quite a bit of the show because I just thought it was silly. The new car and course for the "star in a reasonably priced car is a Mini Cooper and the new course has off read sections. Its also longer and just gives the host more scripted stuff to talk about. So I fast forwarded to get the results.

Anyone else watch?

Chris Evans screeching like an arse hole all the time got on me tits.

It was all very fake.

But - give them a chance - they might get better.

Watched it first episode last week and I honestly thought the US version was better. I didn't like that Chris Evans stopped to help Joey. Thats very un-top gear like.

Waiting for the Grand Tour...

Meh with a capitol M.

The Clarkson/Hammond/May dynamic is a tough act to follow. A show that has identical content without those 3 personalities is going to have a tough time.

It all depends on just how good "Grand Tour" turns out to be. Personally I have my suspicions about the Clarkson blowup over luncheon meat. All the random stuff hes eaten over the course of his career; I find it hard to believe. That whole thing seems more like a premise to leave the BBC more than anything else, especially since its more than just those three that left. A producer and a bunch of crew left with them.

I would not be surprised if the dramatic scene was a staged event based on an analysis of how the BBC contract could be broken
