Make your own ethanol free gasoline

How to make your own ethanol-free gasoline • GL1800 DIY Articles • goldwingdocs.com

If I have ever seen this before I forgot about it. So here it is as a reminder.

Just paid seventy cents a gallon extra for ethanol free gas.

Funny how nobody in that thread actually tried, not even the OP.

Maybe funnier still - I have no intention of trying it either.

This is part of operating procedure for aircraft running pump gas. The test for ethanol is to add water to a sample of fuel in a graduated vial and see if alcohol settles out with the water. If it does then you can measure more water than you added.

I put 100% gasoline in a car recently by brain fart and it seemed to get much better mileage. The odometer wasn't working so it is speculation.

Well, there is a problem - the pipes and hose of the fuel pump contain about 3/4 gallon of whatever was last dispensed - and that could be E15. 3/4 gallon isn't much when you're pumping 15 gallons into your car, but when you're only pumping a few gallons into your bike, which doesn't like ethanol to begin with, 3/4 gallon makes a big difference!
Now that never occurred to me. Buying just a small amount of premium for a high compression engine would screw you more ways than that. You are paying the higher price for the low grade fuel the previous guy purchased and gifting the next guy.

Have to carry a gas can to run the first part into instead of your vehicle then run that thru the lawn mower or something.

Might be even worse than his number only 10 feet of 3/4" comes to 0.91 gal.

Now I read most of that thread. Stupendously stupid idea. Guarantees your gas to be at saturation with water And they missed the best idea to get rid of the waste part, distill into tax free booze
