I got accepted to grad school!

Gonna go for my master's in TESOL, because I've been trying to get a teaching job in Japan for the longest time now

I even set up a GoFundMe page, because I am poor and still paying off loans from my bachelor's =P

Grad school could well be the most intellectually rewarding yet most difficult time in your life. I hope you have the time to realize how wonderfully special your life is becoming. I wish you well.

My first degree is in linguistics with a minor in Japanese.

I lived and worked in Japan for five years.

I taught in public schools in Japan for a year, then worked for a Japanese food and beverage corporation for four years.

I married my wife there, and have been married and speaking Japanese for 25 years.

I speak fluently, and can even get by with a passable Osaka dialect, as my wife is from Hyogo ken.

If you need any help with the language or need advice, give me a shout.

First, congratulations!

Second, when you start school, I'd be interested to see what they did in the way of curriculum, methods and authors, since I did a BA in this in 1972.

BTW what school will you be attending?
