Reportedly, the McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari groups were hoping that Bernie's tenure as F1 head would end. |
So he paid 100million dollars to avoid going to jail for bribery... What am I missing here.

In Germany, you can pay your way out of criminal charges. In the US, only corporations can do that.

As an additional penalty, he's been barred from using Phil Spector's hairstylist for at least three years.

I'd love to meet Ecclestone for a drink in Monaco at the Grand Prix or something, he seems proper freaking insane. He's probably infinitely entertaining.

what i find especially ironic, is the guy he bribed is serving 8 years in jail for taking the bribe. here he is bribing the court to forget about it when guilt has already been establised on one end. interesting legal system loophole.
